Swanee Theatre Presents: The Grass Strings & Red Rocking Chair

Originating from Albemarle, NC, “The Grass Strings” has been around since 1976. Most of its members are seasoned veterans whom have played all over the country. It consists of: Jim Burris, Randy Mauldin, Les Deaton, Ronnie Elwood, and Grace Bemus. The band plays a variety of music, mostly bluegrass, but some country as well. They have a good blend of smooth singing and great instrumentals. It’s a very entertaining group and is well liked where ever they go.

Red Rocking Chair is made up of four veteran musicians, each bringing his own unique approach to the music they present. An acoustic quartet of multi instrumentalists, they blend bluegrass, folk and country in a way only players with decades of making music professionally can attain. Jack Lawrence, Patrick Crouch, Dale Meyer and Tom Kuhn present a blend of guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro, fiddle, bass and vocals that have kept their fans coming back time and again. All that aside, their music is just plain fun to listen to!
